Welcome to Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara, CA Community

Get ready to unleash your inner zombie and stumble through the streets of Santa Barbara, California, this Halloween season! On Saturday, October 26, the annual Zombie Crawl: Halloween Bar Crawl will take over the lively State Street, turning it into a playground for the undead (and those who just like to dress up and drink).

The Basics

Where: EOS Lounge, Santa Barbara, California
When: Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 7 PM to 2 AM
What: A spooktacular bar crawl featuring over 10 bars and nightclubs

Rise from the Dead (or Just Your Couch)

Let's face it: By October, your Halloween costume ideas will probably have been gathering more dust than a mummy's bandages. But fear not! The Zombie Crawl is here to rescue you from another year of lazily throwing on cat ears and calling it a day. This is your chance to go all out, smear on some fake blood, and perfect your zombie shuffle.

Your Zombie Survival Kit

For a measly $15 to $35 (depending on how early you snag your tickets), you'll get a survival kit that would make even the most prepared doomsday prepper jealous. Here's what's included:

  • A map to guide your stumbling feet to all participating bars (because even zombies need GPS sometimes)
  • A fancy lanyard to make you feel important (and to help you remember your name after a few drinks)
  • Drink coupons (because reanimation is thirsty work)
  • Free welcome shots at select venues (to help you get into character)
  • Free entry to nightclubs (no brain-eating required)

The Pre-Game

The night kicks off with a pre-party at EOS Lounge from 7 PM to 10 PM. This is where you'll pick up your survival kit and start mingling with fellow zombies. Enjoy exclusive drink specials, free Halloween handouts, and a chance to practice your best undead groans before hitting the streets.

The Main Event

Once you've got your bearings (and maybe a shot or two), it's time to hit the town. With over 10 participating bars and nightclubs, you'll have plenty of options to quench your thirst for brains... er, booze. Some of the hotspots on the crawl include:

  • Backstage
  • Red Piano
  • Sharkeez
  • O'Malley's
  • Institution Ale
  • Unbearable
  • EOS
  • Night Lizard
  • Shaker Mill
  • Drunken Crab
  • Sandbar
  • James Joyce
  • Wildcat

And more to be announced! (Because zombies love surprises, right?)

Why Join the Horde?

  1. Variety is the Spice of Undeath: With so many bars to choose from, you'll never get bored. If one place isn't your scene, just shuffle on to the next!
  2. Safety in Numbers: Over 300 fellow zombies are expected to join the crawl. That's a lot of new undead friends to make!
  3. Costume Motivation: Let's be honest; you've been meaning to step up your Halloween game for years. This is your chance to go all out without feeling overdressed.
  4. Explore Santa Barbara: See the city in a whole new light (or darkness). It's like a twisted version of a walking tour, but with more alcohol and less historical facts.
  5. One-Stop Shop for Halloween Fun: Why settle for one Halloween party when you can hit up over 10 in one night?

Tips for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse (Bar Crawl)

  1. Eat Before You Arrive: Zombies may crave brains, but your human body still needs actual food. Don't let an empty stomach turn you into a real monster.
  2. Pace Yourself: The crawl lasts until 2 AM. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Don't be that zombie passed out on the sidewalk by 9 PM.
  3. Stay Hydrated: Alternate between alcoholic drinks and water. Your future self (and liver) will thank you.
  4. Buddy System: Travel in packs. It's safer, more fun, and increases your chances of remembering how you got home.
  5. Respect the Locals: Remember, not everyone in Santa Barbara signed up for a zombie invasion. Be mindful of non-participants and local businesses.

The Fine Print

  • This is a 21+ event. Leave the little zombies at home.
  • Costumes are highly encouraged but not mandatory. (But seriously, don't be that person.)
  • No refunds, so make sure you're committed before you buy your ticket.
  • The check-in window is from 7 PM to 10 PM. If you're late, you're out of luck (or you'll need to sweet-talk a friend into picking up your tickets).

So, whether you're a Halloween enthusiast, a bar crawl veteran, or just someone looking for a unique way to spend a Saturday night, the Zombie Crawl: Halloween Bar Crawl in Santa Barbara is the place to be. Get ready to stumble, shuffle, and sip your way through an unforgettable night of spooky fun. Just remember: drink responsibly, or you might wake up feeling like a real zombie the next day!
