Welcome to Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara, CA Community

Sharing post from Mike Jordan Councilmember (District 2)
City of Santa Barbara:

SpaceX is proposing to launch up to 100 rockets per year from Vandenberg Space Force Base, and your voice matters!

The U.S. Air Force has opened a scoping process for public input on this plan, similar to an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). This is your chance to share comments about potential environmental, community, or other impacts.

🗓 Mark Your Calendar for January's Scoping Meetings:

  • Jan. 14 (5–8 p.m.): Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1679, 3801 Market St., Ventura
  • Jan. 15 (5–8 p.m.): Westside Neighborhood Center, 423 W. Victoria St., Santa Barbara
  • Jan. 16 (5–8 p.m.): Dick DeWees Community Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc
  • Virtual Meeting: Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. (Visit VSFBFalconLaunchEIS.com for details.)

Tips for Participating:

  • Arrive early to secure a seat (space may fill up).
  • Be prepared to speak briefly — keep comments focused and no longer than 2 minutes.
  • Bring a written statement to submit for the official record.

Can't attend in person? Unfortunately, details on how to submit written comments if you’re absent have not yet been provided. I've reached out to clarify this and will update as soon as I learn more.
